Welcome to Hipe. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use Hipe.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Hipe platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. We may update these terms from time to time, and your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility — 18+ Only

Hipe is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account or using the platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to access or use Hipe under any circumstances.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately suspend and permanently delete their account without notice. If you believe a minor has created an account, please report it to contact@gethipe.com.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of Hipe, you must create an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify us immediately at contact@gethipe.com.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Hipe in a lawful and respectful manner. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

• Posting spam, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional content outside of designated areas.
• Harassing, threatening, intimidating, or bullying other users in any form — including via posts, comments, direct messages, or community activity.
• Posting content that is illegal, defamatory, or that infringes on the rights of others.
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, systems, or data.
• Using automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from Hipe without prior written permission.
• Impersonating another person, organization, or Hipe staff.
• Coordinating targeted harassment campaigns against any individual or group.
• Sharing another person's private information without their consent (doxxing).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines, with or without notice.

5. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on Hipe and will be removed. Accounts that post prohibited content may be warned, suspended, or permanently banned depending on severity.

• Nudity & Pornography: Sexually explicit content, nudity, or pornographic material of any kind is not permitted anywhere on the platform, including in posts, comments, profile photos, banners, and community pages.
• Graphic Violence: Content depicting real-world graphic violence, gore, or gratuitous harm to people or animals is prohibited. This includes videos, images, and written descriptions intended to shock or glorify violence.
• Hate Speech: Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or any other protected characteristic is strictly forbidden.
• Harassment & Bullying: Targeted harassment, personal attacks, sustained negative engagement intended to harm or distress another user, and content designed to humiliate or degrade individuals are all prohibited.
• Self-Harm & Suicide: Content that encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions related to self-harm or suicide is not permitted. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
• Illegal Content: Content that violates any applicable law — including but not limited to child exploitation material, illegal drug sales, fraud, or threats — is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
• Misinformation: Deliberate posting of false or misleading information intended to deceive, manipulate, or cause harm to others or to public discourse is prohibited.
• Spam & Manipulation: Coordinated inauthentic behavior, vote manipulation, artificial amplification of content, and platform manipulation of any kind are prohibited.

6. Rate Limits

To maintain a healthy community and prevent spam, the following rate limits are enforced:

• Threads: You may create up to 5 discussion threads per hour. This applies to both original threads and threads started from news articles.
• Posts: Reasonable posting limits are enforced to prevent flooding. Accounts that exceed these limits may be temporarily restricted.

These limits are subject to change. Repeated attempts to circumvent rate limits may result in account suspension.

7. Enforcement & Consequences

Hipe reserves the right to moderate content and enforce these Terms at its sole discretion. Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, enforcement actions may include:

• Content removal
• A formal warning issued to your account
• Temporary suspension of posting privileges
• Permanent account termination
• Reporting to law enforcement where legally required

We aim to be fair and consistent, but we are not obligated to warn users before taking action in cases of serious violations.

8. User Content

You retain full ownership of any content you create and publish on Hipe, including articles, comments, and discussion posts. By posting content on the platform, you grant Hipe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the context of the platform. You may delete your content at any time, which will revoke this license going forward.

You are solely responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the necessary rights to share it.

9. Intellectual Property

The Hipe name, logo, design, and software are the intellectual property of Hipe and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our platform without prior written consent.

Content aggregated from third-party sources remains the property of its respective owners and is displayed in accordance with applicable licenses and fair use principles.

10. Disclaimers

Hipe aggregates content from a wide range of third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content displayed on the platform. The inclusion of any article or link does not imply endorsement by Hipe. You are encouraged to verify information independently before relying on it.

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hipe and its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform. Our total liability for any claim related to the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Hipe, if any, during the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service. You may also delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately, and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through the platform or by email. Your continued use of Hipe after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
